The people that
Make Corsu Possible
Originally from Venezuela, Sally Rojas Herrera began her dance training at age 10 in Miami with notables Thomas Armour, Judith Reece Newman, and Robert Pike. She accelerated at the School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, and at 16 became a member of American Ballet Theatre II. At 18, she joined Houston Ballet, where she remained until her retirement. In her 20+ years as a professional, Sally toured globally dancing principle roles, from Norbert Vesak's Gold winning "Belong" Pas De Deux, to Ben Stevenson’s "Swan Lake", Balanchine’s "Serenade", Christopher Bruce’s "Ghost Dances", and William Forsythe’s "In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated".
Since her retirement in 2004 through 2018, Sally was a leading instructor for the professional program at the Houston Ballet Academy. She is frequently invited as a guest instructor throughout the United States, Central, and South America and travels often teaching master classes and adjudicating major competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix, among others. Sally is in constant awe of young dancer’s work and dedication to dance and hopes to celebrate them by offering beautiful quality dance wear that will inspire them through their journey towards greatness.
